FAQS - SPILL PREVENTION CONTROL AND COUNTERMEASURES (SPCC) PLAN

Q:What is a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan? What are the requirements that make me comply with the SPCC Rules and Regulations? Our facility stores petroleum-based products on the property.
A:An SPCC Plan is a guidance document that facilitates the emergency response and cleanup of a petroleum-based spill at a facility. An SPCC Plan is required for a facility that stores, on its site, petroleum-based products greater than 1,320 gallons in either a single tank or multiple containers, or 24 55-gallon drums of oil or petroleum-based product. The SPCC Plan includes emergency phone contact numbers for plant personnel and regulatory agencies in the event of an emergency.
